For two years he and Barbara travelled the United Kingdom visiting many of the 480 churches in affiliation with FIEC. Barbara had been confined to a wheelchair for twelve years and in November 1998 she was called home to be with her Lord. Their story is told in 'Horizons of Hope' (see Books).
Brian remains a member at Hook Evangelical Church and his ministry is one of writing, editing and preaching at churches and conferences (see Preaching). Brian has written twenty books, including a marriage preparation book with his wife Barbara, plus fourteen ‘In Conversation’ booklets. He has also edited three symposiums and is currently Series Editor for the Day One Travel Guide series. His teaching ministry includes involvement with the Genesis Project (a training programme of Hook and Chessington Evangelical Churches) and Prepared for Service (a training programme of the FIEC).
From 1995 Brian has been chairman of the Trustees and Editorial Board of Praise Trust, the charity responsible for the production of the new hymnbook Praise! (see Books or Links). For ten years Brian was a member of the Council of FIEC and of their Executive Committee; he was also a member of the Theological Team of Affinity and chaired the Social Issues Team of Affinity.
Brian’s interests include walking, gardening and exploring the inland waterways of England with Andrew on Andrew’s boat Khayamanzi. For a full description of life on board see Andrew’s website under Links.
